MILFORD -- The Milford Garden Club announced its July Garden of the Month  as the Victorian home on the corner of 11 NE Fourth Street and N Washington Street in Milford.

Sean and Cindy Mullarkey have owned the home since 1982. Mr. Mullarkey is a retired State Trooper and is also retired from the Air Force Reserves. 

Ms. Mullarkey enjoys maintaining the yard with flowers. She is also an ice skater and participates in adult competitions.

Her love for gardening came from her mother and grandmother. Her goal over the years is to create a garden that could basically care for itself.

She no longer plants annuals, but has plants that are easy to take care of. For instance, she enjoys vinca, roses, petunias, cannas and cedar trees.
