Some were deadly, others caused injuries or left no one wounded.

A rash of recent shootings and a stabbing in Kent and Sussex counties brought arrests in some cases, but not all.

There have been least nine incidents since May 25, according to police.

The incidents have included:

• Wednesday — In Milford, although not officially classified by police as a shooting, Milford Police investigated the deaths of a woman and 3-year-old child after their bodies were found at a residence on the 6000 block of Peeblebrook Drive in the Brookstone Trace development.

A person of interest was then detained when the Milford PD was dispatched to the 500 block of South DuPont Highway in Milford for a 31-year-old male who was bleeding from his head, according to a press release. The responding officers contacted the subject and EMS rendered medical at the scene. He was transported to the hospital with non-life threating injuries, police said.

•Tuesday — In Millsboro, a 36-year-old man was shot to death on St. Thomas Boulevard.

A 19-year-old Millsboro man was apprehended in Maryland and police said he is facing a first-degree murder charge, along with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The man was awaiting extradition from Maryland as of Thursday.

•Tuesday — In Dover, two men were killed in a police-involved shooting incident at the Harmony at Kent Living Senior Center.

Police said a center staff member was shot by a man who had been escorted out of the building. Two troopers then fired guns at the suspect, killing him in the parking lot.

•Monday — In Laurel, an unknown suspect or suspects fired multiple shots into a large crowd at Little Creek Apartments, killing a man and wounding another. Several cars were also hit, authorities said.

•June 2 — In Long Neck, police said a man died from stab wounds inflicted by his stepson. The stepson was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was subsequently held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,180,000 cash bond.

•June 1 — In Seaford, a 22-year-old man was hit by gunfire and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police said an argument between unknown individuals near a residence on Front Street Extension preceded the shots being fired.

•June 1 — In Ellendale, a fatal shooting brought the arrest of a 26-year-old Ellendale woman. She was charged with first-degree murder, among other offenses, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $1,060,000 cash bond.

•May 29 - In Seaford, a 20-year-old Georgetown man was arrested for a shooting at a home in the 26000 block of Kelly Circle.

A 15-year-old girl was shot in her foot, police said. The arrestee was charged with first-degree assault, among other offenses and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $130,000 cash bond. Authorities said a second person was sought.

•May 28 — In Dover, a residence on North Governors Boulevard occupied by two adults and three children was struck several times by gunfire. No injuries result and police said a suspect description and motive were unknown.
