SMYRNA — In celebration of its 100th anniversary, American Legion Ambulance Service Station 64 will hold a parade and community party Saturday.

The parade begins at 10 a.m. and will travel through the downtown area on High, Commerce and Main streets before arrival at the town's municipal park,   according to the station.

A community block party will begin at noon in the Smyrna Middle School parking lot. Vendors, food trucks and more will take part.

The station's staff currently includes around 32 full- or part-time employees and about 50 volunteers, ambulance service director Bradley Gosch said.

While the station has handled approximately 5,000 calls the past few years, Mr. Gosch said the responses are on pace to reach 5,500 or so in 2024.
