For fourth day, no COVID-related deaths in Delaware
By DOVER — No additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported Wednesday, leaving Delaware’s total at 1,677 for a fourth straight day.
Also, according to a daily report issued by the Delaware Division of Public Health, current hospitalizations fell by seven to 33; the number stood at 101 May 9. Five of the current hospitalizations were considered critical cases.
While daily hospitalizations averaged 13.2 per 100,000 persons May 1-7, they dropped to 5.3 from May 29 to June 4. The percent of tests that were positive decreased from 3.5 to 1.8 in the same time frame, while the rate of new cases per 100,000 persons fell from 136.1 to 30.2.
Among Delawareans of all ages, 50.9% of the population has received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 42.1% are fully vaccinated. Among females, 54% have been vaccinated, while 47% of males have.
There were 257,293 doses of vaccine remaining in the state, according to the latest update.
