LAUREL — Three persons were wounded in a shooting incident within a private residence Sunday, Laurel Police said.

The incident occurred in the Carvel Gardens apartment complex in the 2800 block of Daniel Street at around 2 a.m., police said.

A 26-year-old female was treated for seven gunshot wounds and 17-year-old male suffered two, police said. Both were in serious but stable condition afterward. An 18-year-old female sustained a graze wound and was treated and released at the scene.

As officers arrived, police said, a large number of people were seen filing out of an undisclosed apartment and fleeing to their vehicles or on foot.

Also, a vehicle was seen leaving the immediate area and did not stop upon command, according to authorities.

A pursuit was initiated by Laurel Police and ended with Seaford Police utilizing Stop Sticks on that vehicle, authorities said. Several persons were taken into custody without incident, authorities said. They were questioned and then later released, police said.

Police said 50 spent casings from various types of firearms were located inside and around the area.

Investigation continues and Laurel Police asked anyone with information to contact Det. Garner at 302-875-2244 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
