SEAFORD — A 74-year-old Seaford woman died from injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash Sunday.
At approximately 4:18 p.m., a Nissan Versa was traveling north in the right lane of Sussex Highway, approaching the intersection of Middleford Road, Delaware State Police said. At the same time, a Honda Odyssey was traveling west on Middleford Road, approaching the intersection of Sussex Highway.
Police said the Versa failed to stop at the red light and proceeded into the intersection and into the Odyssey’s path. The front of the Versa collided with the left front side of the Odyssey.
The woman driving the Versa was taken to an area hospital by ambulance, where she later died. On Tuesday, police announced the victim was Anna Cannon.
The Odyssey’s driver and passengers were taken to an area hospital by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed for approximately 3.5 hours.
The Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate and asks witnesses to contact Senior Cpl. R. Albert at 302-703-3266, to send a message via the state police Facebook page or to call Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-847-3333.
