SALISBURY — Students across the Lower Shore are invited to spend time in downtown Salisbury this Saturday, Jan. 13 to learn about the legacy of Underground Conductor Harriet Tubman while enjoying storytelling and other activities.

SchooLARS 4 STEM, the Young Elites of the Eastern Shore West to East Coast Aviation Network (Y.E.ES. W.E. C.A.N.) and Faith Over Fear Economic Empowerment Inc. are hosting this event which starts at 11 a.m. at the Harriet Tubman Beacon of Hope statue in front of the old courthouse on Division Street.

From there participants will walk to the nearby Salisbury Art Space, 212 W. Main Street, for student recitations, local speakers, storytelling, activities and more.

Anthony “Tony” Cohen will be the keynote speaker. He is an author and historian who has traveled the 1,200 miles of the Underground Railroad by foot, boat and rail from Sandy Spring, Maryland to Amherstburg, Ontario.
