CAMBRIDGE – Before we get to sharing our exciting upcoming events schedule with you, here’s a quick reminder about our updated hours of operation at the Cambridge Branch that began in March. The Central Branch will be open Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Hurlock Branch hours of operation remain the same, operating Monday through Wednesday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Happenings at both Cambridge and Hurlock Libraries:

• Craft To-Go: Tissue Paper Flower - Stop in to pick up a free craft to-go kit containing all you need to create your own uniquely beautiful tissue paper flowers to welcome spring. These flowers don't need water and they won't activate your pollen allergies. Colors will vary. Available while supplies last. (For all ages)
• Storytime - Every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Catch the storytime fun with your kiddos every week at either our Cambridge or Hurlock branch every week! (For ages 0 to 6)

Happenings at the Cambridge Library:

• Anime Club - Every Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. Cambridge Meeting Room - Meet up with fellow anime lovers weekly for games, episodes and so much more! (For ages 13+) 
• Spoken Word Open Mic on April 11 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cambridge Meeting Room - Do you have the heart of a poet? Do you write your own song lyrics? Do you have a favorite poem that just needs to be read aloud to be fully appreciated? Then come by our Spoken Word Open Mic afternoon! First come, first signed up. Every performer will be allotted three minutes in the spotlight. Poems and prose may not use profanity or curse words. Acoustic instruments welcome, but no amps or electric guitars. Mark your calendars and invite friends to join this unforgettable celebration of language, community and expression. (For ages 13+)
• Stitch & Knit on April 18 at 4 p.m. Cambridge Meeting Room - Calling all crafters: Bring your knitting needles or crochet hooks and come craft with us! Don't have a project? Small weaving looms will be available for you to try! (Adult program)
• Black Out Poetry Night on April 23 at 4:30 p.m. in the Cambridge Meeting Room - Do you find beauty and profound language all around you? Come practice your poet's eye at our Black Out Poetry Night! You'll be set with a marker to block out unnecessary words in the text to allow the poetry to come through. No experience or extra supplies needed to join us. Supplies will be provided. Once completed, you are free to share your art with the group (but no curse words allowed if sharing). (Open to13+)
• Local Poet Visit from Hiram Larew on April 27 at 1 p.m. Cambridge Meeting Room - Join us during April's Poetry Month as we celebrate poetry in our lives. Very special guest poet, Hiram Larew from Churchton, will facilitate our circle as we discuss poetry's power to amaze. Feel free to bring a cherished poem to share. And bring a pencil - in case we have time to write a line or two. Copies of his books and poems will be available for purchase with all sale proceeds going to the Eastern Shore Branch of the Maryland Food Bank. (Adult program)
• Lobby Event: Shore Legal Access on April 19 from 2-5 p.m. - Walk into the Cambridge Library's lobby this afternoon to meet with a representative from Shore Legal Access who will be hosting an information table about their services. Please note, the representative can only offer information on how to access legal help, but not give legal advice at the table. 

Happenings at the Hurlock Library:

• STEM Night on April 18 at 5:30 p.m. - Experience the excitement of STEM at the Hurlock Public Library! Our STEM Night Program has hands-on activities, demos and presentations on science, technology, engineering and math. (For all ages)
• Historical Fiction Book Club on April 25 at 5 p.m. - The first of many for this bimonthly club! April's Book Club Pick: “Trust” by Hernan Diaz. Stop by the library to request a copy or borrow through Libby! Enjoy discussions and light refreshments as we delve into this prize-winning novel. (Adult program)
• Drop-in Craft: "April Showers" until April 14 - Stop by the Hurlock branch to create. (For all ages)
• Drop-in Craft: "Bugs" April 18-28 - Stop by the Hurlock branch to create. (For all ages)
