Bromwell stepping down as Dorchester superintendent March 1

CAMBRIDGE -- The Board of Education and Superintendent David Bromwell have mutually decided that he will step down as superintendent, effective March 1, the Board announced Wednesday.

The Board of Education will be voting on an interim superintendent to serve the remainder of Bromwell's term which runs through June 30 at its regularly scheduled Thursday, Feb. 22, meeting to be held at the Dorchester County Technology and Career Center at 2465 Cambridge Beltway.

The surprise announcement followed the Board's press release of Friday, stating that Bromwell would not seek reappointment to the position when his current term ended.
