CAMBRIDGE -- Dorchester County Public Schools Superintendent W. David Bromwell, Jr., has decided against seeking reappointment when his current term concludes in July 2024, the Board of Education announced on Friday, February 16.
In the statement, the Board thanked Bromwell for his many years of dedicated service to the school system, particularly his tenure as superintendent, which began with a unanimous interim appointment July 2019-July 2020, followed by a full four-year role.
Before being named superintendent, Bromwell served as principal of North Dorchester High School from 2009 to 2010 and Cambridge-South Dorchester High School from 2010 to 2020.
The Board plans to initiate its search for the next superintendent shortly, according to Friday’s press release.
