Reporters from the Daily State News offer five ideas to stimulate your Mother’s Day gift giving. (Hint, hint: It’s Sunday.)

Jewelry

In downtown Smyrna, Jessica Sayers said birthstones and “tree of life” pendants and necklaces have been big sellers at Sayers Jewelers & Gemologists.

While Mother’s Day-related business has been as “consistent as past years, ... men tend to be last-minute shoppers, so it’s always busy at the end.”

The 19 S. Main St. business has been building up to Mother’s Day, hosting Muffins for Moms gatherings for two weekends, during which mothers spent time compiling their wish lists, Ms. Sayers said.

“Family is a big thing for us, so it kind of brings the emphasis of the family’s mom,” said Ms. Sayers, a fourth-generation member of the family-owned enterprise.

“We have a lot of moms coming in and building wish lists, and then, their kids come in with Dad and pick out the items for Mom, so she gets the satisfaction of a little bit of say but also the element of surprise.”

Wellness

Looking for a potentially unique Mother’s Day gift? Naturally Well in Lewes may have some options.

Located in Nassau Commons, the business is owned and operated by Stacey Rowe. It strives to help clients achieve a healthy, balanced lifestyle by providing wellness services that focus on naturally detoxing the body.

In Milford, Studio You is providing all the self-care essentials.

They are a full-service salon and spa and they provide sports performance programs.

This year they are doing a Custom Pamper Bundle that includes a 40-minute relaxation infra-red sauna session. It also comes with the choice of 60-minute massage, 60-minute signature facial, 60-minute full haircut experience, 60-minute personal training session or 30-minute problem area cryotherapy body contouring session.

There is a $200 bundle package and a $300 bundle package.

Studio You is located on 39 N Walnut Street in Milford.

Flowers

Ivins Florist in Farmington does flower arrangements for any occasion, including Mother’s Day. It is now taking orders for Sunday’s holiday.

“We will be doing fresh arrangements, potted plants, hanging baskets, and we have our gift shop,” said owner Chuck Ivins.

The South Dupont Highway store is right next to the Farmington Volunteer Fire Co. Flowers can be picked up there or delivered.

Wine

Some mothers really love their wine and what better gift than a bottle or two?

Marydel’s Harvest Ridge Winery has several kinds to offer, and assistant tasting room manager Katie Kozel shared some of the best.

For a white wine, there’s its Pinot Gris 2021, described as “soft and rich.” Ms. Kozel said it tastes best with fresh fruit and is available for $20 a bottle.

If red is more Mom’s style, there is the 2020 Barbera, which Ms. Kozel called “light and fruity.” It is $25 a bottle.

Then, there’s the state bird-themed Blue Hen Blue, the winery’s bestseller. It features a blend of Concord grapes and blueberries, making for a dark, rich, sweet wine. Each bottle is $17.

Finally, something completely different — the winery’s pineapple cider, which Ms. Kozel said is similar to a sweet-sour beer. It’s $25 a growler.

Harvest Ridge also has plenty of other merchandise and gift cards.

Whatever you choose, it’s the thought that counts. She gave you life; you can surely give her a gift! Happy Mother’s Day!
