SALISBURY — The ELKS Lodge #817 in Salisbury MD, is pleased to announce its donations in the months of February and March, 2024.

The charity donations February totaled $15,535. There were 17 recipients including four Wicomico County public schools, four youth sports teams, two volunteer fire departments, four recipients aiding people in need and two honorary societies at Salisbury University.

The March donations of $17,960 were also awarded to 17 organizations: Four recipients affiliated with Wicomico County public schools, five institutions serving the needy and people with disabilities, two historical societies, one organization promoting STEM education for children, a society promoting women’s issues, a pharmacy drug diversion program, a visual art foundation, a breakfast prayer club, and a minority civic organization.

The Salisbury Elks Lodge #817 founded in December 1902 was formally chartered on July 23, 1903. The current location was opened in January 1950. Besides offices the building includes a dining room, bar, and meeting rooms. There is also a members-only swimming pool. A golf course is operated by the lodge and open to the public.
