Sussex proceeds with safety position consolidation
By GEORGETOWN — The Sussex County council proceeded with an ordinance to eliminate the positions of department head of emergency operations and department head of emergency medical services.
The ordinance also creates the position of department head of public safety, a role the county announced on April 9 will be filled by Robert Murray Jr.
The ordinance will go back to the personnel board before returning to the council at a future meeting.
