Sussex may eliminate public safety positions
GEORGETOWN — During Tuesday's regular meeting, Sussex County Council will review a draft ordinance by Karen Brewington, director of human resources, to eliminate two department heads.
Those positions would be replaced by the new of director of public safety, a role given to Robert W. Murray Jr. on April 9.
This measure is part of the county’s process to codify public safety efforts under one department.
