GEORGETOWN — Keystone Distributors, which since at least 2021 has operated the pop-up firework shops that appear in the Tanger Outlets, 36461 Seaside Outlet Drive in Rehoboth Beach, and Barton’s Supply, 20689 Sussex Highway in Seaford, has had its contract renewed for another three years by the Sussex County Board of Adjustments on Monday.

Rick Seery, director of operations, told the board the contract was essentially unchanged from previous years, with setup beginning “a few days” before sales can begin on June 21, with sales wrapping up on July 4 and teardown of the pop-up sites happening before July 10, according to the contract.

The board approved applications for both shops, with the Tanger location containing an additional stipulation. Seery’s contract with the outlet allows the mall to relocate the site of the pop-up shop, but if the mall chooses to exercise this option, the fireworks shops would have to return to the board for another ruling, according to the approved stipulation.
