SELBYVILLE — No injuries were reported in a residential structure fire Thursday, the Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal said.
Spokesman John Galaska said the incident, reported shortly before 7 a.m., occurred in the 36000 block of Mallard Drive. The Roxana Fire Company arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure.
The lone occupant was alerted to the fire by working smoke detectors and was able to escape without injury, Mr. Galaska said.
Through investigation, the fire was found to be accidental in nature and was caused by an electrical malfunction. Damage is estimated at $85,000.
