Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore to host over 4,000 students at 2024 JA Inspire

EASTERN SHORE, Md. – Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore will welcome over 4,000 students from nine counties when it hosts JA Inspire at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center on Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13.

Eighth grade students from Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot, Dorchester, Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Sussex and Accomack public schools are expected to be in attendance, while the event will also welcome private and home school students.

JA Inspire, presented by Maryland Grain Producers Utilization Board, will feature over 130 exhibitors from across the Delmarva region, including TidalHealth, Chesapeake Utilities, Whiting Turner, NASA and several more.

“We are extremely grateful for all our sponsors and businesses that have come together to help put on the largest JA Inspire in the Shore’s history,” said Ricky Pollitt, Development Manager for JAES. “This program allows students to take their first steps in career readiness, giving them insight into the roles and jobs available once they enter the workforce.”

JA Inspire is a one-of-a-kind career exploration event for students, showcasing different industries throughout the region, while explaining what education and skillset is needed to thrive in a specific field.

The event will also feature eastern shore colleges, universities, apprenticeship programs, trade schools, and internships so students can gather the information needed to achieve their goals from an educational aspect.

“This program not only impacts our students, but will also have a lasting effect on our local businesses and economy,” Pollitt said. “By keeping our talent pool on the Shore, we are ensuring future success for our area.”
